Carson Fulmer scouting report:

Fulmer is a power-pitcher who throws strikes. Armed with a 95-98 fastball and sharp breaking ball, Fulmer has the makings of a quality big leaguer. He was part of the epic 2014 season for Vanderbilt that culminated in winning the College World Series. He began the 2014 season as the closer and would eventually become a crucial part of their scary rotation. During the summer he pitched for the U.S. Collegiate National team posting a 0.73ERA with three win and he held opponents to a paltry .141 average all of which lead the pitching staff. Scouts adore his makeup and his ability to work quick and throw strikes. His delivery (as depicting in the video below) has a lot of moving parts. With that type of effort in his delivery sometimes things can get out of sync resulting in a lack of command and control. Similar to his counterpart Walker Buehler, his size is also an area of concern. With that being said, he is in the conversation as one of the top five pitching prospects available in this years draft. Carson Fulmer was drafted by the Red Sox in 2012 out of High School but will end up improving his draft stock significantly.

He has piled up strikeouts this year and quieted doubters with his enthusiastic delivery. Coupled with Dillon Tate, it’s a very good start for Houston.
