Alex Bregman Scouting Report:

Bregman is arguably one the better defensive shortstops in the nation. Along with his defensive prowess he also offers a ton of offensive ability. He’s been a doubles hitting machine the last two seasons and has posted double-digit stolen bases this year. He has a keen eye and a tremendous understanding of the strike-zone resulting in a high on-base percentage and a ton of walks.  He tends to get pull happy from time to time and his lightning quick bat allows him to wait on pitches. Bregman was drafted by the Red Sox in the 29th round in 2012 out of high school and was 100% committed to attending LSU. He has dramatically improved his draft status and is one of the top College MLB Draft Prospects in the nation. Some scouts project him to move to second base, but there is no debating his overall talent. Bregman was selected second overall in the 2015 MLB Draft by the Houston Astros. On June 24, 2015 Alex Bregman signed his professional contract with the Astros. His signing bonus was 6-million dollars.
