Detroit Tigers Farm System

Over the last several years the Tigers have spent their revenue on the big league club and not focusing on their farm system. That philosophy has resulted in winning at the big league level and stunted the growth and development of their minor leagues. Winning at the big leagues is by far the highest goal however a healthy farm system should also be a high priority. With the lack of minor league depth it truly puts the Tigers in a tight spot when injuries take place on the big league roster. The Tigers do not have currently have prospect in our Top 100 List.

Detroit tends to have a fascination about hard-throwing pitchers who eventually become bullpen arms. Two of their prospects progressed to the Big Leagues last year Nick Castellanos and Corey Knebel. Both of which are being counted on this year to produce results. Their top draft pick last year Derek Hill has high upside but is still a work in progress.
